MLR Avocats (hereinafter referred to as the “Firm”) is committed to respecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal data. The Firm undertakes to implement all necessary measures to ensure processing in compliance with the applicable regulations, in particular Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (the General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR) and French Law No. 78 17 of 6 January 1978 on Information Technology, Data Files and Civil Liberties.

 

By using the Firm’s website www.mlr-avocats.com (hereinafter referred to as the “Site”), you agree to this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Privacy Policy”). Its purpose is to set out the terms and conditions governing the collection and use of your personal data in connection with your use of the Site.

 

Personal data refers to any information relating, directly or indirectly, to an identified or identifiable natural person.

 

In operating the Site, the Firm may process certain personal data. In this respect, the Firm undertakes to process only the data strictly necessary for the purposes pursued.

 

The Firm reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time. The revised Privacy Policy will be published on the Site and will indicate the date of its latest update. You are therefore responsible for regularly checking the Site to remain informed of any changes or updates to the Firm’s Privacy Policy.

Collection of personal data

In accordance with applicable legislation, your personal data may be collected when:

  • you communicate with us via the contact form (appointment requests, information requests, etc.)
  • you browse the Site
  • you submit an application for a position or internship
  • you subscribe to one of our newsletters

Purposes of processing

Your personal data is collected and processed on the basis of the Firm’s legitimate interest in order to:

  • respond to your questions, provide you with information and deliver the services you have requested under the best possible conditions
  • facilitate navigation on the Site, optimise its functionalities and ensure its security
  • carry out anonymised statistical analyses to assess Site traffic
  • process applications received through the Site
  • send you information, newsletters, invitations to events and conferences, and maintain and develop the Firm’s relationships with clients, prospective clients and partners

Data retention

The Firm retains your personal data only for the duration necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected and processed. Beyond this period, the Firm may archive the data for a longer duration to comply with its legal obligations.

 

Information stored via cookies is retained for a maximum of thirteen (13) months in accordance with applicable legislation.

 

Applications, CVs and cover letters submitted via the Site are retained for up to two (2) years for potential future recruitment, unless the candidate expressly requests their deletion.

 

Personal data used for communication purposes is retained for a maximum of three (3) years from the date of collection or your last contact with the Firm.

Cookie management policy

To improve the functionalities, efficiency and performance of the Site, you agree that cookies may be used when you access and continue browsing the Site.

Cookies are small encrypted data files downloaded to your device when you browse the Site. They allow us to recognise you, collect information about your visit (pages viewed, preferred language, etc.) and remember your preferences to enhance your browsing experience and improve the content and functionalities of the Site.

Data disclosure

Personal data collected and processed by the Firm through the Site is shared with our lawyers, associates and administrative staff, all of whom are bound by strict confidentiality obligations. Personal data may also be transmitted, where necessary, to the Firm’s technical service providers (including IT providers) for the purposes described above.

 

Under no circumstances does the Firm transfer, sell or rent collected data to third parties, whether for consideration or free of charge.

 

Personal data may also be shared with competent authorities or courts, in particular to comply with the Firm’s legal and regulatory obligations. If such a situation arises, we will inform you in advance unless prohibited by law.

Your rights as a data subject

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy is governed by French law. Any dispute relating to it falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris.
