For more than twenty five years, Matthieu has advised international investors operating in Francophone Sub Saharan Africa, with a particular focus on the highly regulated Oil & Gas and mining sectors. His career, shaped by nearly ten years spent in Chad and Gabon and further enriched within international law firms in Europe, gives him a deep understanding of local cultures and the nuances of business law in the region. His expertise is multidisciplinary and spans the entire investment cycle: legal and tax structuring, negotiation and performance of contracts with States, hydrocarbons and mining regulation, infrastructure, corporate law, taxation, customs, foreign exchange regulation, commercial contracts, anti corruption compliance, project finance, insolvency proceedings, employment law, among others.
